- I lecture, write, and curate film weeks, exhibits, and conferences on Contemporary European, African, and Middle Eastern Cinemas in Europe and America.
- I am part of the African Film Festival (NYC) as a member of the Selection Committee, reviewer and contributor.
- In the academic world, in addition to organizing numerous conferences on contemporary Czech and Danish film, I have published and lectured widely on such themes as the concept of authorship, film consumption and reception, and film festivals.
- My current research focuses on a revised use of the concept of authorship, Contemporary African Art, Palestinian, Italian, and Iranian Cinema, and the role of music and dance in African film.
- I am the film critic for Okayafrica and a correspondent for GuinGuinBali and África Scientia, but you can also read me in Buala, Rebelión and Africaneando.
